Project M

The long awaited Stile Bertone Mantide Project M supercar made its debut yesterday at the Shanghai Autoshow. The showstopper designed by famed Pininfarina designer Jason Castriota is a sleek, uber futuristic outlook on bespoke automotive engineering. Underneath the hood lies a Corvette ZR1 which if you have ever heard before, befittingly goes well with the aggressive sculpted front and rear.

The carbon fiber body enables the ZR1 engine to push the relatively lightweight supercar 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds topping out at 217 mph. Much more information to be had at their site including a video. Com’on, you know you wanna hear what it sounds like.

Tron 2.0

I dont know if i was expecting to be excited about Tr2n. But, Daft Punk doing the soundtrack? Come ON! Plus the trailer looks pretty sexy, unfortunately only one available is a cam from a cinema, but check it and turn up the sub!

Humble Telescope

Designed and developed by a Melbourne based team ENESS. The Humble Telescope is an interactive civic sculpture that brings the wonders of space down to earth and encourages us learn more about the universe in a whole new way.

Inside the telescope exists a 3D simulation of our entire known universe. Pointing the telescope in any direction immediately shows us what exists in that area of space, so now we can get a greater understanding of where the planets are and where we live in the Milky Way.

Squirrel Catapult!

I choked on my chocolate bar when i watched this! Made me giggle so hard. Pretty cruel I suppose, but they are rodents!

Phillips Master LED Bulb

The MASTER LED BULB uses the same form factor as said replacees with 40 watts of illuminance using a scant 7 watts of energy. Perhaps the best bit is the 45,000 hour lifespan. Compare that to an incandescent's 1,500 hours.

You can find the Master Bulb in stores across the U.S. this July.

Nissan Qazana

Found this on tranism, awesome car! lol

Like the love child of a dakar rally car and the all but dead Isuzu VehiCROSS, the Nissan Qazana steals my heart. Yes it's odd and the proportions are so not production ready but appreciate its cartooniness.

Nissan's Design Europe team says that they were influenced by the "motif of a modern day beach buggy and a four-seat motor-bike." Why this idea didn't result in a more skeletal open-top off-roadster on balloon tires (the Qazana rides on modest-for-a-concept 20-inch wheels), we're not sure, but we think this design has merit on its own regardless. While we wouldn't expect a greenhouse quite this radical or the some of the motorcycle-inspired interior details to see production, a UK-built smaller counterpart to the smash hit Qashqai has been promised, and the Qazana could well influence the design.

Check Before You Dig

Ever used one of those gadgets on the wall before you drill through electric wire? Guess this guy wished he had one too!

The guy who did this below and anyone else helping him surely did not survive. You just never know what you are going to find when you go poking around below the surface. I thought we could all learn a little about safety from this dramatic event. Just because you think you are in the "middle of nowhere" does not mean there is not something there. That's why you call first!

The pictures below are a result of a guy using a post hole digger without calling for "locates" and he hit an underground cross country gas pipe.

Rubik 360

The Rubik’s 360 is set to repeat the success of the maddening Cube, which became an overnight sensation almost three decades ago and remains the world’s fastest-selling toy. Now the reclusive Hungarian inventor hopes to recreate the buzz of Rubik’s Cube with his new game, featuring six balls trapped within three transparent plastic spheres.

The puzzle show here ahead of its unveiling at a toy industry fair in Germany on February 5, confronts users with the same frustrating challenge – a task that is simple to understand, with only one possible solution, yet extremely difficult to execute. Players must get the colored balls from an inner sphere into matching slots on the outer sphere by shaking them through a middle sphere that has only two holes.

Laser Tattoo's

I'm no huge tat fan, but i found this and it made me giggle! How about using a laser cutter to scarify your own skin. It’s very painful, not to mention the discomfort of smelling your own burning flesh. He’s using an Epilog with a magnet over the safety switch. To get the positioning right, a layer of painters tape was put down and then etched. Check the video!

21:9 Widescreen Enough?

Don't bother pulling out your ruler. Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. That's an ultra widescreen flat screen TV brought to you by Philips. They figure people are losing way too much info watching movies originally filmed at a 21:9 aspect ratio (ahem, Iron Man, Batman... all the "_man" movies) so they're bringing the cinema experience home.

Love the idea but damn, that's gonna be some big ass side letter boxing when I watch normal broadcast television or even regular movies filmed at 16:9.
